When we need to know where to go, we use a map.
Nowadays, all we have to do is pull out our phones and type in the address. Within seconds, we’ll know the fastest route to our destination along with setbacks or accidents that might prevent us from getting there efficiently.
Quantitative EEG’s for Customized Care
At NeuroHealth Maine, we use maps to help our patients get better as quickly and efficiently as possible. Brain mapping technology allows us to understand the brain’s geography, anatomy, and general functions. We’ll take a look at each area of the brain to see what’s working properly and what’s not.
The digital data is then statistically analyzed and converted into a map that represents brain functions. Brain mapping technology is an essential clinical tool. Experts use it to evaluate brain function to better determine the right course of treatment such as TMS, neurofeedback, or medication.
How Does qEEG Work?
To start, it’s important to understand that nothing goes into your brain — we are simply recording what is going on energetically within your brain. In fact, qEEG follows the same general principle as EEG tests but adds a quantitative element (hence the “q”). qEEG is simply a multi-electrode recording of the electrical activity in your brain.
The report studies individual brain waves and compares your data to “neurotypical” brain functioning. This comparison allows our expert team to identify subtle deviations that can make a BIG difference in a patient’s care.
NeuroHealth Maine works with most insurances and is in-network with many. TMS therapy for depression is a covered service with virtually all insurances. We’d love to speak with you or a loved one on how brain mapping can help find the right course of treatment for your optimal wellness
